Taking Antiracist Action in Youth Work \n<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The Fair Wind project helps youth workers build the skills and confidence to recognise and challenge racism \u2013 and to take apart the systemic structures that allow it to continue.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Towards Fairer Youth Work through an Antiracist Approach<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Young people deserve to feel safe, seen and included. Our antiracism work at the Peace Education Institute supports youth workers in recognising racism in everyday situations and taking meaningful action to stop it. We also challenge the systemic practices and structures that sustain racism.<\/p>

The project is aimed at youth workers and others who support young people in their free time. Key activities include practical training for youth workers, leadership training with an antiracist lens, an accessible online course, and easy-to-use support materials.<\/p>

We are also building a national network of antiracist trainers \u2013 especially focusing on those with lived experience of racism, and strengthening their opportunities to lead and share their expertise.<\/p>

Around 300 professionals will take part in the training. The online course and our guide, Guidelines for Leading Antiracist Youth Work, will also be freely available to individuals and teams looking to learn more together. And by growing our trainer network, we can offer tailored support to a wide range of communities and organisations.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
